SPEAKER_00

Hey again, Divas and Dudes. Welcome to the Lorena Bobbitt After Show.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, welcome in. Whoa.

SPEAKER_00

I've got quite a few things that I want to.

SPEAKER_02

Hold on tight to your penis, because we're about to go for it.

SPEAKER_00

So I want to go over John's abuse after Lorena.

SPEAKER_02

But not shocking. I mean, and Leopard doesn't change their smarts. He probably abused people before her too.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. He almost certainly did. And he was married twice after Lorena. Both of those marriages ended in divorce. Shocking. Right? And both of those women said he physically and sexually abused me, and he was charged with the physical violence. So factually we know that it happened.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, and uh nobody deserves to be assaulted or sexually abused. But you're a dumbass. If you get together with this guy if you have like Drew Peterson, right? Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, hundred percent. Like, what are you seeing in this dude?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean he there's no one he could have possibly met that hadn't heard of him. Right. And they must have heard all of the allegations of abuse. He must be one of those charmers that manages to convince everybody that it all wasn't true, but they soon found out.

SPEAKER_00

They soon found out. One of the marriages ended after only two weeks. So it didn't take that one long to find out at all.

SPEAKER_02

Why why don't you get to know somebody really well before you marry them?

SPEAKER_00

I know. Not even a year is long enough, y'all. I promise you, not even a year is long enough to truly know somebody and know that you can live with them and be their partner and that they're not, a, a scumbag, or b, just gonna drive you fucking crazy. You need to know somebody for a long time.

SPEAKER_02

Having said that, my husband and I got married after six months, but not because we had plans. Well, that turned out fine. We we planned to get married in three years, but just situations led to where we were forced into doing it earlier. But um, but yeah, lucky for me.

SPEAKER_00

Lucky for you that he's not a John Wayne Bobbit.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Or a Drew Kenerson.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And you know that you are the exception to the rule.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, mom.

SPEAKER_00

You know that like most situations don't end up so nicely.

SPEAKER_02

It wouldn't have been my ideal. That was not the plan.

SPEAKER_00

Right. But it it turned out well. So that's good.

SPEAKER_02

No, because it's not a good thing.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, ten years. You're good. Yeah. Um, so yeah, this is his this is his MO. He is a wife beater. That's him. And it doesn't change anything. It can't change anything about the verdict of the Raina's case, but now we know, oh, she wasn't lying. Right. She's horrible.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I d I would never believe she was lying anyway, because people do not cut off people's penises for no reason.

SPEAKER_00

No, literally. And I mean, I guess there are definitely are some psychopaths out there.

SPEAKER_02

Most people would not cut off their husband's penis for no reason.

SPEAKER_00

Right, right.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, maybe if you were just sadistic and you abused a stranger, but you don't suddenly turn on your husband four years and cut up his penis unless you got terresa.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Uh if you hadn't just get up one day and be like, you know what, I think I'm gonna do today? I'm gonna do some laundry and then I'm gonna cut up a penis.

SPEAKER_00

Make some apple pie, make a pot rose, let him have a nice meal, and then just chop it off. Yeah. No, if you have a happy, healthy marriage, you're not gonna do that. You're absolutely right. So something was clearly going on there, and this just solidified it. Yeah, he just beat it.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So another thing that I like to get into is his employment at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch. Did you know about that? No, it's okay. So he was employed at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch in Las Vegas, which was like a brothel of like legal prostitution. It's legal legal arena. Right. So he was employed there strictly because his name was huge at the time. The owner really wanted to take advantage of that notoriety he thought that would bring in clients. So he employed him as like a doorman security guard slash driver. And he was just an all-around scumbag. He was not reliable, he didn't show up to work, he showed up drunk to work, he didn't work when he was there, he just flirted with all the sex workers. Um, he tried to date all the sex workers, which was strictly, strictly forbidden.

SPEAKER_02

But didn't we say right at the beginning of this that he did not like to work?

SPEAKER_00

Right, he's a scumbag. He never could hold down a job. Yeah, right. And there's another woman that was financially supporting him as well after this. She worked at the bunny ranch with him. That's how they met.

SPEAKER_02

Well, she was like, hey, I mean that dude with the chopped off penis. That's not a date. Right. What's wrong with people?

SPEAKER_00

But so they started dating. Shit fell through there at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch because he was a terrible employee. So he got fired. No surprise to anybody. And for some reason he had moved across the country, like East Coast.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he was sorry as hell. He didn't want to get a job. So this girl, her name was Desiree.

SPEAKER_02

She moved with him across the country.

SPEAKER_00

She did not move with him across the country. She stayed at Bunny Ranch and continued doing sex work. And she supported him and paid his rent. Paid all his bills, his food, everything because he wouldn't get a job. She signed his lease for him. And she's not even with him because she's living across the country, right? Right. She's in Reno at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch doing sex work to pay for his rent in a house that she's not even living in, and he's across the country.

SPEAKER_02

If she's got that much money, she can pay my living expenses. No, literally.

SPEAKER_00

Literally. So now this again is a pattern of behavior. This again is his MO. Not only does he abuse women, he uses women financially because he's a scumbag loser that can't hold down a job. Okay, now this gets worse with Desiree. So Desiree was dealing with his abuse, paying his rent for like several months, and eventually she did get tired of it, and she was gonna break it off with him. So she was gonna go over there because she would frequently drive cross country to go see him. So she made that drive and told him, like, hey, I I don't want to do this anymore. I don't want my name on this lease anymore. You need to find somewhere to live. I can no longer support you. I no longer want to be in this relationship. Well, how do you think that went? He flew into a rage, of course, because that's his cash cow and severely, severely beat her. Like to the point that she lost consciousness. And he thought that he killed her. He thought that she was dead. Well, she wakes up sometime later and continues to play dead. She literally is playing dead. And he wraps her up in a sheet getting ready to dispose of her body. And she just keeps playing dead, keeps playing dead. And then eventually, like he leaves and she escapes. This is like a bad mood. No, I know, I know. And during that assault, and I forgot to mention this, he picked her up like feet first and dangled her over the balcony. It was like a sixth-floor apartment. I mean, can you imagine? And she wasn't the only one that said that. Another woman said that he had dangled her over a balcony as well. And this is not just your run-of-the-mill abuse. This is torture. Like this is wanting to inflict as much fear and pain as possible.

SPEAKER_02

Now I'm thinking that Ryan did stab all organ.

SPEAKER_00

Right? So, yeah, I mean, thankfully she was able to make her escape and live to tell the tale. But what does that tell you about him? That he's even worse than we thought. He thought that he murdered this girl and he wasn't gonna get medical attention. He was gonna just go dunk the body. He wrapped her up in a sheet. He thinks he's untouchable, doesn't he? He does. He really, really does. So yeah, while while we're still on the bunny ranch. When he was working there, he and one of his other dumbass coworkers, this other guy, they literally went to a store in Vegas that sold luxury westernware, apparel and boots, and accessories, and whatever the cowboys wear. I don't fucking know. The cowboys. Not a cowboy. So he tried to steal about a hundred and forty thousand dollars worth of luxury western wear.

SPEAKER_02

Because you wear in that, would they?

SPEAKER_00

So what happened was he and his co-conspirator went in and got all dolled up, like head to toe in the clothing, like hats, boots, shoes, pants, you name it, everything. And somehow, I don't know if they tried to like write a check for it, you know, because this was back some years ago when checks were still a thing. Um, they were like, oh, here's a check for $140,000. I'm John Wayne Bobbett and I have a lot of money, and this is gonna clear, and you don't have to worry about me.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'll take your check for $140,000 and believe you.

SPEAKER_00

And as they were walking out, they like the the people in the store found out that, like, oh, this this payment didn't clear. Right. You guys are thieves, get back here. And he did get a grand larceny charge for that. So they were able to prove that like he was trying to steal. So again, pattern of behavior, his MOOC is just a fucking scumbag. Yeah, I can get away with anything. I can walk in here and walk out with $140,000 worth of your merchandise, and you can't do shit except he got charged.

SPEAKER_02

Good.

SPEAKER_00

Um, so yeah, and here's another thing that kind of paints him in a really shitty light is he was in the military for a period, and he was discharged. And there's no clear answer on whether it was an honorable or dishonorable discharge.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I would take a guess.

SPEAKER_00

Right now, I'm saying it would be easy to assume that it was probably dishonorable because he was getting into a lot of fights and stuff like that. But I just thought it was interesting that there wasn't confirmation on that.

SPEAKER_02

It's also very unusual for somebody that's been in the military to have such a low work ethic.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, and that's probably why he's just like, yeah. Because they really beat that into you. Like it's uh it's like brainwashing.

SPEAKER_02

Right. People that have come out of the military and then go into jobs. I mean, employers love to see that.

SPEAKER_00

Because they're on time, they do what they're supposed to do, and they don't start trouble.

SPEAKER_02

I don't question and just yes or no, sir, and they'll be early to work, they don't call out.

SPEAKER_00

Not John.

SPEAKER_02

Not John.

SPEAKER_00

Do you want to discuss the um the whole deportation immigration?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so he was saying to her, and this is from somebody that's been through um Green Card by Marriage. Right. I know she's a citizen now, I'm a citizen now, but when you first get that green card due to being married, they really do thoroughly look into your relationship and your marriage to make sure that you're not doing it out of convenience to get the green card.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, they're not lying in those movies where they're asking, like, what colour is his toothbrush and all that stuff. Like it is 100% exactly what they do and they try and catch you out. And I'm assuming, but I don't know, if he was threatening her with deportation, she must have had a marriage green card. And green cards are only temporary.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

They're 10 years and then you have to renew. Um, the only thing I can think, because it wouldn't be up to him to deport her, if she's got a green card due to marriage, then he can't like go and turn her in for illegally being here because she's not illegally here. Obviously, he would make out that he had power and control he didn't really have, and she didn't know any different, maybe. But what he could have done was gone and said, Hey, you know what? She actually paid me to marry her to get a green card. But that would have put him in as much legal issue as as her.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. But he didn't even but that's the thing is is he didn't even need to do any of that.

SPEAKER_02

He's fluffing, it's full of shit.

SPEAKER_00

Um But she was so naive and at his mercy that she fully believed it. She didn't even question it.

SPEAKER_02

Right. But there would have had to been some proof or something, and they must have passed the original interview, as they call them.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Right.

SPEAKER_02

They interview you separately.

SPEAKER_00

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

We literally had to show like pictures from first dates. Um, we had to show like we were both individually questioned about our first date. Like, where did you go? What movie did you see? What did you be? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I know that you're a hundred percent right, and he he didn't have the authority to deport her in the real world, but she believed that he did.

SPEAKER_02

And he seemed to be one of those people that knew how to threaten and make it sound ominous without what to do to get under her skin and make her feel that fear because he liked it.

SPEAKER_00

He liked it. Not only did it keep her under control, which was the goal, but he liked it. And he even admitted to his co-workers, I like to see women in pain and in fear.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like she may have been better off deported.

SPEAKER_00

No, literally. But she she wanted that American dream. I mean, she wanted it so bad. And that let me go into my next But she went into an American nightmare. She did, she really did. An absolute American nightmare. And let me go into the next thing that I feel like really felt made her feel like she was stuck was her religious upbringing. So she was brought up in like a very strict Catholic household, and they did not believe in divorce. Period, point blank. You do not get a divorce, you figure it out. And no shade to anybody's religion. Believe what you want to believe, do what you want to do, as long as you are not harming another person.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

However, if you have brainwashed your daughter with religion into believing that she cannot leave this marriage where she is being beaten and sexually assaulted and threatened and cheated on and just disrespected and tormented at every turn, that is a problem. The religion is then a problem.

SPEAKER_02

Right, but it's really hard to backtrack on something that you've been taught from birth.

SPEAKER_00

It is, it is a brainwashing, and I know that. But at the same time, would you rather your daughter be in pain?

SPEAKER_02

And I wonder if she was discussing it with family back in Venezuela.

SPEAKER_00

If she didn't go to them and she was being transparent and she probably wasn't, she told them the horrors that she was living, they probably would have said it's okay to divorce him, come back home.

SPEAKER_02

It's okay to divorce him in these circumstances.

SPEAKER_00

But they never said that to her before.

SPEAKER_02

No, because they didn't know what's going on.

SPEAKER_00

But and that's why you have to think about that. Like as a parent, especially, if you are saying these things to your daughter, you cannot get divorced. We do not believe in divorce, no matter what. You are beating that into her head from day one. This is what she's gonna stay in. Anyway, I really wanted to make that a point because I do think that the whole religion thing is one of the main reasons she stayed that she stayed. And I think that that is so incredibly heartbreaking. Because religion is supposed to like, you know, be your guiding light, bring you this comfort, blind. Give you hope. Hope, right, exactly. And it it really kept her a prisoner. It is so ironic. So was justice served here? I mean, not in John's acquittal, he got acquitted from that sexual assault.

SPEAKER_02

But like I said, she wasn't allowed to tell them the whole story.

SPEAKER_00

No, but even one sexual assault is still a sexual assault. And he should have been convicted.

SPEAKER_02

Mm did she have a rape kit done.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I I Yes, she did. And there they found his DNA inside of her. But his story was, oh, we had consensual sex. But yeah, he also said that he was so plastered that he couldn't perform. But he also said they had consensual sex. So which is it? You've caught him in a lie. Why are you acquitting him?

SPEAKER_02

But a rape kit should prove more than just that there was semen there and that they had intercourse. It should prove she damaged.

SPEAKER_00

He there was. It was. He would frequently not just force her to have vaginal sex, but also anal sex without lubrication. And so there were wounds there, vaginal and anal.

SPEAKER_02

But I guess if he's saying, Oh, we enjoy rap sex.

SPEAKER_00

Nobody enjoys that. I'm sorry. Yeah. And she's telling you he he forced me, and then she chopped his fucking dick off. So I don't think that justice was served. I think that he should have been convicted of that.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and that was proved later on. Because had he been held responsible for the sexual assault with Lorena, there wouldn't have been for the victims.

SPEAKER_00

Right. The other victims, and there's probably way more than the two that we know about. Yeah. What about Lorena? Was her sentence fair? The not guilty by temporary insanity and 45 days in the psychiatric facility? I think so. I think it was appropriate. A lot of people think that because it was such like a gross, violent crime that she deserved to do.

SPEAKER_02

But compared to what?

SPEAKER_00

It could have been his heart. No, yeah, and I agree. And I I think they did the right thing. I think, like, you cannot excuse the violence. I do not excuse her chopping the man's penis off. I really don't excuse it. She should not have done it.

SPEAKER_02

But in a way, you could call it self-defense.

SPEAKER_00

Right. She was temporary insane at that moment. I truly believe that she was out of her mind, that she did not know what was happening.

SPEAKER_02

But also, like I said, it's the weapon.

SPEAKER_00

Right. It is.

SPEAKER_02

And if you don't have it anymore, you can't force it into me, any of my holes anymore. So in a way, it's self-defense.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but she couldn't say self-defense in court, though, because you have to prove that like bodily harm right back.

SPEAKER_02

That your that your life was in danger. But it's to me, it's a formal. No, I agree.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. But the law doesn't. I do think that temporary insanity was the appropriate conviction. And I'm glad that they came to that. I'm I'm glad that she did the 45 days in the psychiatric facility because she needed it. She'd been through so much.

SPEAKER_02

What was the evaluation?

SPEAKER_00

The evaluation was that she had PTSD.

SPEAKER_02

She received some like counseling therapy, medication, whatever it was she needed, you know.

SPEAKER_00

They got her.

SPEAKER_02

So she doesn't chop off the next man's PNS.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And here's another thing is when she heard not guilty, she just automatically assumed in court when she heard that that she was being set free. She did not understand that she was not free. She didn't know that she was gonna go in that psychiatric facility.

SPEAKER_02

I'll take 45 days in a psychiatric facility over years in jail any day in the way.

SPEAKER_00

English was not her first language. She was still very much learning it at this point. And it was very confusing and scary for her because she was like, Oh, not guilty. I'm going home or whatever. And then she's loaded into a cop car and taken to this facility. But she did say afterwards, once she understood everything, that she actually appreciated her time there and that it helped her a lot.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, she needed counseling. She had been through obviously horrifying experiences if they drove her to that point. Has she since dated marriage?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I can't remember his name. They actually never got married, but they've been together and they have a grown daughter together, and she says that he's the best man ever.

SPEAKER_02

Can you imagine what his friends said when he said? I'm marrying Laura. Who? Wait a minute. You know what she did, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But no, she seems really happy now. She does her work with the Lorena Gallo Foundation and she still tours and talks to young women about domestic violence.

SPEAKER_02

And that's always good to hear of something positive coming out, especially if it's something that helps prevent situations like this in the future. But I do think that in this day and age compared to when that happened, there is a lot more awareness just in general.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's one of my talking points is how would this case be viewed today in 2026? I think that I don't think it would have gotten that far.

SPEAKER_02

I was just about to say that. I think that there would have been so much more resources and information and help available to her that she wouldn't have felt that desperate one would hope.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I agree. I don't think that the penis would have ever even gotten chopped off. I think she would have gotten some help and some resources and hopefully gotten out of that horrible situation. Um one more thing that I want to touch on before we end. So John claims that he was sexually abused as a child. And people in the family seem to back that up. That seems to be true. Okay. I believe it. Um he had like a tumultuous childhood as well. His father was abusive and absent, and his mother was mentally unstable, emotionally unstable. And so John and his siblings were removed from their care and placed with an aunt and an uncle. And apparently there was another family member, it might have been another, a different uncle, was sexually abusing him as well as his siblings, like frequently. And I guess the aunt and uncle did eventually find out and didn't go to the police, but they're like, Hey, you are never to come back here again. But the damage was done. The sexual abuse was like apparently really horrific.

SPEAKER_02

And it's not surprising because of his actions. They very often do come from people who experienced it. Right.

SPEAKER_00

So it was him mimicking what was done to him. So he was just a a small child and he was being sexually abused, and that caused him a lot of pain and fear. And so then what does he do? He marries a woman and he inflicts that same pain and fear on her and he enjoys it.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Yeah, it's the full circle. Um one question I think pops to everybody's mind about the story is so he said l like he wanted to get back together with her and have a child. Was his penis functioning after the like what could he get someone pregnant? Was he able to get an erection? Was like I'm always curious. And and I remember on the documentary the doctor saying that he hoped over time that he would regain full function and that there had to be additional surgeries. But I don't know if I'm guessing if he started in one ofs that he was able at least to get an erection. But I would be very surprised if he was able to father a child as well, at least naturally.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't know if it was functional or not. It would be very hard to believe that it was after the botched surgery, especially.

SPEAKER_02

I'm thinking like before the the botched enlargement, if he was starring in pornos, it must have been gross. Yes, gross is one word, but I'm thinking it must have been somewhat functional because nobody is gonna watch a limpdick motherfucker. Yeah. I mean, that'd be the worst porno. I'd be taking it back to Bordwester and being like all my money back, and I did not rewind this.

SPEAKER_00

And you are not charging me a rewind fee.

SPEAKER_02

I did not pay for a free attached Lymp Dicks Anonymous.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, I don't know if it was or not, but I mean there's always like artificial insemination, blah blah blah.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, I realize you could have got a segment in a you know a different way. How long had the organ been off the body? In a field. In a field and stepped on. And stuck on. And then on ice and then put like it's amazing that bag.

SPEAKER_00

From a convenience store.

SPEAKER_02

Convenience stores are so 7-Eleven.

SPEAKER_00

Um that would not be getting anywhere near me after they reattached it. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02

And so the whole the whole thing that they can even reattach it at that point is just phenomenal. I know. But how much like function he can get back in it? They did say that that they were confident he would be able to urinate from it, but that's just reattaching a tube. I mean, that's the difference between coming out as opposed to sperm being like shot out. Right. I'm just I might look into that. I don't know why. I'm fascinated as to where that surgery fascinating.

SPEAKER_00

He's on social media, send him a message, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that'd go down well.

SPEAKER_00

He'd probably answer you.

SPEAKER_02

He'd be like, Yes, we should like to have a button.

SPEAKER_00

No, literally.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just I'm fascinated by medical stuff and surgeries. And this was 30 years ago. Yeah. But they were able to reattach a penis. I think that's fascinating. Um and if they back then could attach it to where it was fully functional again, having never performed that surgery before. Right. That surgery had never done it. That's a fascinating.

SPEAKER_00

It is. It's fascinating. It's impressive. It's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

We'll get back to you on that one, guys.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we'll then talk to John and like you. I'm not talking to John. No, you want to know.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to know from John.

SPEAKER_00

He immediately sends you a duke pic.

SPEAKER_02

I've already seen a duke pic of his six.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. For anybody who hasn't seen Lorena, the documentary on Prime, they show you the graphic pics. There's no warning.

SPEAKER_02

If you want to see a picture of a severed penis, I'll never unsee it. No. I'm picturing it right now. I don't even want to see.

SPEAKER_00

And why would it look actually so much like a hot dog?

SPEAKER_02

Stop gross. So it's the it's the medical side that passing.

SPEAKER_00

Got it. Not the hot dog side.

SPEAKER_02

Not not the man it was attached to side. That's thank you.

SPEAKER_00

That's fair. All right. On that note, we end it for today.

SPEAKER_02

We're getting hysterical. I don't know why.

SPEAKER_00

We're getting hysterical.

SPEAKER_02

Because we're talking about seventeenths and seventeen minutes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. All right, you guys. We hope that you enjoyed the Lorraine Bobbitt after show. Um, obviously there's a lot to make light of, but also as we discussed in the actual episode, I mean, Lorraine endured a lot of trauma, and we need to remember that.

SPEAKER_02

But I do feel like all of the um jokes at the time were more about her chopping off the penis. And I think that what we find amusing from it is John losing his penis. Right, definitely. He deserved it. And I hope it doesn't work, to be fair, um, because then he can't go on to keep abusing people. So I think the joke should be on him.

SPEAKER_01

And I think that the sympathy and empathy and all our well-wishes should be with Lorena.

SPEAKER_00

Those all of those go to Lorena, and a big old middle finger goes to John. Two middle fingers. You guys see that.

SPEAKER_02

She's actually holding them up with her body nails.

SPEAKER_00

All right, y'all. Uh that's all for this one. We will see you next week with I have no idea, but we'll see you.

SPEAKER_02

I bet I I'm gonna I I'm decided. I'm gonna do uh Heather Elvis. Heather Elvis. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So we'll see you next week with Heather Elvis. And until then, thirdly. Bye. Bye.

SPEAKER_02

And don't talk off any penises.

SPEAKER_00

Unless he's a dick. No, don't do it. Bye.
